Joey is Vice President of Product at Litera, a leader in Legal Technology software. At Litera, Joey is responsible for 4 lines of business and joined as part of the 2021 acquisition of Kira Systems, a pioneer in using AI to analyze contracts since 2011.
Joey's product journey started in Design completing a Master's in Human Computer Interaction which took him to Microsoft for close to a decade running teams responsible for the User Experience of Windows and her online services. It was at Microsoft that Joey wanted to better understand the end-to-end of shipping products and gave up his organization to become a frontline Product Manager.
In 2007 the iPhone launched and by 2009 BlackBerry recognized the need for a User Experience rebirth and Joey was headhunted to move back to Canada from Redmond to help build the UX discipline and launch BB10. The experience of designing an icon from the ground up was one of the most rewarding but once shipped the pull back to Product Management saw him return to help move BlackBerry to Android and into new businesses such as BlackBerry's strategy in the Internet of Things (IoT).
Legal? Desktop? Phones? IOT? What do they all have in common? Joey loves to build products, teams and people's careers and regardless of the domain he does it, his team mantra has always been "Have Fun, BuildStuff".
