Work with an accomplished product leader as your coach to:
The program includes 6 hour long sessions that can be arranged weekly or bi-weekly. Your coach will meet with you 1:1. Exact timing / days, frequency (weekly / bi-weekly) and format (virtual vs. in-person) is going to be up to you and your coach.
Each coach may adapt their approach based on your needs, but as a general principle, each meeting will have an agenda revolving around the following questions:
You will likely have a shared Google Doc with your coach, so you can pre-fill answers to the first two questions and can together collaborate on the last two questions. As part of this collaboration your coach may ask probing questions to help you both gain a better perspective on the situation, share stories of how they have approached similar situations in the past, describe a framework that may help you find a path forward or suggest specific tactics.
As a general principle, your coach is not there to tell you exactly what to do, but rather help you build a skillset to frame problems and find solutions on your own.
Each session is meant to build upon the previous one, so you have continuity and feedback loop. Your coach will hold you accountable to the actions you committed to and will be curious about the results those actions produced.
The program does not require coaches to be available outside of your pre-scheduled time. That said, it will be up to the coaches to offer this. Most coaches are likely to agree to off-hours email, slack message or a text, if you need feedback urgently.
This program is designed for product managers with titles such as Product Manager, Senior Product Manager, Product Lead, Group Product Manager, Direct of Product or Head of Product. You likely already have 1-2 years of product management experience or more, so you have a base understanding of the function and are looking to accelerate your growth in either product craft or product leadership.
Product Managers currently looking for a new role or those who are currently not in Product Management. The purpose of this program is to help Product Managers level up in their craft and product leadership - this is where our coaches excel.
All coaches are experienced Product Leaders that were hand picked for their track record, impact, reputation in the Toronto Product community and who have built, led and coached product teams for many years.
The coaches are:
Yes, but your selected coach may be at full capacity. In which case, we may suggest either getting on the waitlist or selecting another coach.
After your 30-min Trial meeting with the coach, both you and your coach need to agree to work together, at which point you can start your 6-hour coaching program.
You need to meet the following requirements:
If you are looking to hire a Product coach of this caliber, the typical cost is between $250 - $600 CAD per hour (we checked).
To make sure we can attract accomplished Product Leaders and have them commit to 6 hours, we are compensating them for each hour they spend with you. However, since TPMA is a large community of people passionate about the Product craft, we were able to negotiate a substantially lower than market rate.
30-min Trial meetings are designed to help you and your coach assess mutual fit. You don't pay any fees until you are both committed to the program.
